DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Barry (2-0) women's tennis team, ranked fifth in NCAA II, picked up its second win of the 2013 season courtesy of a 9-0 victory over Embry-Riddle, Friday at the Crotty Tennis Complex.
The Lady Bucs controlled the match from the beginning, winning first second and third doubles, 8-3, 8-1 and 8-0, respectively. Kimmy Twelker earned Barry's first singles point with 6-0, 6-0 decision at No. 6 and Elizabeth Abanda clinched the victory with a 6-0, 6-1 win over
Ana Gonzalez-Hoy at the fifth spot.
The Eagles, who are now 1-4 on the year, will open Sun Conference play on Wednesday when they host Northwood at the Crotty Tennis Complex.
