Eagles Track & Field Signs Three for 2014-15

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle track & field team has announced the signings of three recruits for the 2014-15 season.
 
Alex Orr, a senior at Chambersburg Area High School in Chambersburg, Penn., will join the cross country and track & field teams in August 2014. Brianna Paczynski, a senior at Palm Harbor University High School in Palm Harbor, Fla., will run track and cross country at ERAU in August 2014. Ken Pineiro, a senior at DeLand High School in DeLand, Fla., also will join the cross country and track & field teams in August 2014.
 
Orr's personal-best in the 5K in cross country is a 19:37.00. In 2012, Orr was the first runner out of 105 at the Enos Yeager Invitational. In 2010 and 2013 her team was the Mid-Penn Champions. In 2013, Orr helped her high school team to a district title. Individually, Orr was a district medalist and P.I.A.A State Championship qualifier from 2011-13. As a senior, Orr was inducted into the Chambersburg Cross Country Hall of Fame and received the Mid-Penn Conference Scholar Athlete Award. 
 
Entering her senior track & field season, Orr has posted personal-bests of 11:36 in the 3200m, 5:31 in the 1600m and 2:27 in the 800m. Orr is planning on studying Aeronautical Science to pursue her dream of becoming a commercial airline pilot.
 
Paczynski signed her commitment letter today at the ERAU Indoor/Outdoor Challenge to run track and cross country at Embry-Riddle.
 
Paczynski is a two-time district champion in the 3200m and has a personal-best of 12:11, she is also a two-time state qualifier for cross country. As a four-year Most Valuable Runner honoree Paczynski has a personal-best of 20:00 in the 5K. Paczynski will be pursuing a degree in Human Factors.
 
Pineiro also announced his signing with the Eagles today at the ERAU Indoor/Outdoor Challenge. Competing unattached today, Pineiro placed in second in the mile with a time of 4:24.07.
 
Pineiro has consistently been a top runner in the Volusia County area for the past three years. At the FHSAA 4A State meet in 2013, he placed in fifth in the mile and boasts a personal-best of 4:19.25. He raced to another fifth place finish at the 4A state cross country meet in 2013 crossing the finish line in a personal-best 5K time of 15:48.85. Entering his senior track season, Pineiro, has a personal-best of 9:24.66 in the 3200m and a 1:57.80 in the 800m run. In 2012, Pineiro was named the Volusia County Boys Runner of the Year.
