THE EAGLES
The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team enters Sunday's game with a 1-1 overall record.The Blue and Gold went on the road to Miami last weekend and earned an 8-1 win against Sun Conference foe St. Thomas on Saturday before falling to NCAA II No. 3 Barry by the same margin on Sunday.

Freshman Paula Ortiz Couder leads the Eagles in dual match play with a 2-0 record, playing both matches at the No. 6 spot int he lineup.

ERAU was on the courts on Wednedsay, Feb. 12 to take on NCAA II Rollins, but prior to the conclusion of doubles play a torrential downpour forced an early conclusion to the contest. That match will be replayed on Tuesday, Feb. 18.

STETSON
NCAA I Stetson wrapped the 2013 season with an 11-10 overall record and a 5-3 mark in the Atlantic Sun Conference.This season, the Hatters are led by seniors Lindsey Cable, MayaBlue Stauffer-MacDowell and 2013 A-Sun All-Conference second team selection Diana Bukajeva.

Their last match saw the Hatters pull out a 4-3 win against Florida Atlantic. Stetson is 2-1 on the year and Bukajeva, the Hatters' top-flight player, is 3-0 in singles and 2-1 in doubles.

THE ERAU –SU SERIES
Sunday's contest marks the ninth meeting between the Embry-Riddle and Stetson women's tennis teams. The Hatters lead the all-time series 8-0, including a 6-1 decision on Feb. 20, 2010.

 
THE LAST MEETING
The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team suffered its third loss of the 2010 season on Feb. 20, falling to NCAA I Stetson 6-1 at the Hatters' Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.

Playing according to NCAA I rules, Stetson took a 1-0 lead after doubles. Breanna Atkinson and Katherine Nowicki took an 8-4 win over Julija Stojkovska and Josefine Strom, followed by Valentina Galbarini and Caroline Santos, who topped Natasa Zoricic and Yi Ching Chen 8-5 at the top doubles spot. Jen Miller and Natalie Gorham closed out the Hatters' doubles sweep with an 8-4 decision against Carolina Nilsson and Sara Abraul at No. 3

The first two singles matches off the court were at the third and fourth spots as Atkinson topped Stojkovska 6-1, 6-1 at No. 4 and Santos blanked Nilsson 6-0, 6-0 at No. 3. Shannon Gunning topped Strom 6-4, 6-1 at No. 5 and Galbarini scored the clincher with a 6-2, 6-3 victory against Zoricic at No. 1.

Chen registered the only win of the day for the Eagles, pulling out a three-setter against Unnati Purushotham, 3-6, 6-4, 10-7.

EAGLES IN THE RANKINGS
The Eagles are ranked seventh in the NAIA Women's Tennis Coaches' Top 25 poll, marking the sixth consecutive season that ERAU Women's Tennis is ranked among the nation's top 10 in the preseason ratings. Two ERAU student-athletes are featured in the ITA/NAIA singles rankings as sophomore Hui-I Huang is ranked ninth and senior Kristina Marova is ranked 27th. Huang and Marova are ranked No. 1 in the national doubles poll.
