J Rhet Montana went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Embry-Riddle found some offense on Sunday in an 8-4 win over NCAA II Stillman, recording 13 hits and six RBIs to claim the final game of the weekend series. The Eagles (6-7) took a 3-0 lead in the third and added three in the sixth and two more in the ninth to come away with the victory over the Tigers (5-8).

ERAU returns to Daytona to host Davenport on Tuesday, Feb. 25 at 6 p.m. at Sliwa Stadium.

Embry-Riddle stranded three in the first inning, as Jordan Johnson drew a walk and Darryl Knight was hit by a pitch around Liam Goodall's single through the right side before Kevin Lindheim and J Rhet Montana were called out on strikes.

Corey Tufts, making his fourth start of the season, surrendered a one-out double to the Tiger first baseman, but followed it with back-to-back groundouts to send the game to the second inning scoreless.

Nick Gensler continued to struggle in the Eagle second,  giving up a base hit and hitting another batter, but managed to get out of the jam by inducing a ground ball off the bat of Jordan Johnson for the final out.

Montana and Bruehl teamed up for a nice defensive play in the Tiger second when Fernando Tanaka layed down a bunt to third that Montana scooped up and fired to Bruehl at first who extended and kept his foot on the bag for the out.

Gensler struggled finding the strike zone in the third after giving up a pair of singles to Goodall and Lindheim, walking three consecutive batters to chase in two Eagle runs before a wild pitch scored another for the Blue and Gold, giving the visitors a 3-0 lead. The runs snapped a 14.2 inning scoreless streak for ERAU in the series.

Ashton Johnson relived Gensler in the fourth after Tufts cruised through the three Tiger batters he faced in the last of the third. SC's new pitcher gave up a leadoff single to Jordan Johnson but got a fielder's choice and two fly balls to end the frame without a run crossing the plate.

Tufts and Knight combined for a strikeout, caught stealing double play in the Stillman fourth, and after a base hit, Tufts induced a ground ball to end the inning and send the Eagles back to the plate.

The Blue and Gold loaded the bases in the sixth after an error and two singles from Knight and Lindheim. Lindheim's base knock hit the Tiger pitcher on the head and Ashton Johnson was forced to exit the game, giving way to Dawson Turberville with two outs. Montana battled the new pitcher to a  1-2 count and took the next pitch to left center that scored two Eagles and when the throw came in to third, glanced off  Lindheim allowing the senior to touch home for a 6-0 ERAU cushion.

After two base hits to start the home half of the sixth, Clayton Wagner was called on to relieve Tufts, but quickly surrendered a single and a hit a batter as the Eagle lead was cut to 6-2. A ground ball resulted in an out, but on the attempt at a double play, the ball was thrown away and another run scored for Stillman, making it 6-4. Wagner got out of the inning with a groundout and fly ball as the Eagles held on to a two-run lead.

Wagner faced the minimum in the seventh, slowing down the Tiger momentum, but the Eagles couldn't take advantage, stranding Goodall at second for the 11th LOB of the contest.

David Lidyard entered the game for Wagner to start the bottom of the eighth, and despite a bunt for a hit and a walk, got out of the inning to send the game to the ninth.

Montana led off the top of the ninth with a missile to left for a standup double, touching home on Bruehl's double two at-bats later. Lorenzo Boden pinch hit for Eric Simone and collected a single before Kyle Chastain brought in Bruehl with a single through the left side for an 8-4 Eagle lead.

Ronnie Lozada finished the game for the Eagles, getting the final out via a fly ball to center, preserving the four-run win.

The win marked the 100th against an NCAA II opponent in Embry-Riddle history.

Tufts finished with 5.0 innings of work, surrendering two runs on six hits with four strikeouts to earn the win. Wagner tossed 2.0 innings, allowing two runs (one earned) on two hits while Lidyard threw a scoreless eighth and Lozada tossed a near-erfect ninth.

Bruehl finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs and a run scored while both Montana, Lindheim and Goodall collected two hits in the Eagle win.
