DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team suffered a tough 8-0 loss to NCAA II No. 5 Lynn on Wednesday. The Eagles are now 5-6 on the year, while Lynn improves to 12-1.
 
The Eagles fell behind early as Lynn won all three doubles points to take a 3-0 lead. The Fighting Knights' first point came on court two where Grace Mpassy and Martina Gledacheva topped Kathryn Bock and Paula Ortiz Couder 8-4. On court three, Alina Jane and Carolina Cuevas bested Giovanna Tomiotto and Meena Bennett 8-3, and fourth-ranked Diana Bogolii and Rosalie Willig completed the sweep with their 8-4 decision against Hui-I Huang and Anna Götz at the top spot.
 
Sixth-ranked Bogoli got the first singles point for Lynn when she topped Huang at No. 1 singles and Gledacheva scored the clincher by topping Bennett 6-1, 6-0 at the fifth spot.
 
The Eagles' next match will be on April 7 at 3:30 p.m. when they host former conference foe Southeastern at the Crotty Tennis Complex.
