TAMPA, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team notched its third road win of the season, topping the University of Tampa (7-10) 7-2 on Sunday. Now 9-8 on the year, the 31^st-ranked Eagles are on the road again on Monday when they travel to Lakeland to face No. 40 Florida Southern in a contest originally scheduled for April 15.
 
A 3-0 sweep in doubles gave the Eagles three of the five points needed to secure the win. Giovanna Tomiotto and Meena Bennett got the scoring started with an 8-1 defeat of Gianna Pinasco and Cameron Moskol at the third spot. Paula Ortiz Couder and Kathryn Bock followed with an 8-3 win over Maddie Stephens and Danielle Beyes on court two and Hui-I Huang and Ann Götz's 8-6 victory over Kirsten Mee and Emily Hewland completed the doubles sweep for the Blue and Gold.
 
Götz wasted little time earning the Eagles' fourth point of the day as she dispatched Hewland 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. Next to her on court one, Huang won the first set easily, 6-0, but Mee put up a stiff challenge in the second frame before Huang was able to pick up with win in the tiebreaker, 7-6 (7-1).
 
After Huang scored the clincher, the Spartans managed to get two points back when Pinasco held off Bennett 7-5, 7-5 at the sixth singles position and Ortiz Couder had to retire against Stephens due to an injury.
 
The remaining two singles matches both went to the Eagles as Bock held off Blowe 6-2, 7-6 (7-4), and Tomiotto earned a three-set victory over Beyes 0-6, 6-2, 6-0.
