BOCA RATON, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team (1-5) dropped a 5-0 decision to third-ranked Lynn (6-0) at the Fighting Knights' Perper Tennis Complex on Thursday.
Lynn was dominant early with a 3-0 sweep in doubles. Top-ranked Diana Bogolii and Rosalie Willig downed
Maud Mrad and
Alexis Marshall at the top spot, while Grace Mpassy and Stefanie Stemmer bested
Maria Turrillo and
Georgina Wood by the same margin on court two. Tereza Hejlova and Carolina Cuevas completed the sweep by topping
Kathryn Bock and
Ana Gonzalez-Hoy 8-3 at the third position.
Both of the Fighting Knights' singles wins came in straight sets as 23
rd-ranked Mpassy downed Wood 6-1, 6-0 and 12
th-ranked Bogolii scored the clinching point with a 6-2, 6-0 defeat of Mrad at No. 1 singles.
The Eagles return to action at 11 a.m. on Saturday when they host Tampa at the Crotty Tennis Complex.
