@ERAUMBasketball's Road Woes Continue in 89-65 Loss at Nova Southeastern

FT. LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle men's basketball team fell to 0-7 in games played away from the ICI Center this season with an 89-65 loss to Nova Southeastern on Saturday afternoon. The Eagles (10-12, 4-10 SSC) couldn't slow the Shark (14-6, 8-6 SSC) offense as the home team shot 50 percent from the floor, while ERAU managed just 41 percent from the field and only made two of its 16 three-point attempts.

Nashad Mackey churned out his 17th double-double of the season, extending his Embry-Riddle single-season record, with 13 points and 17 rebounds, while Rudy Bibb-Boyd led the Blue and Gold offense with 14 points, reaching double-digits for the 20th consecutive game to start his Embry-Riddle career.

Mackey made the first basket of the game to give the visitors a 2-0 lead, and a few minutes later, his three gave the Eagles a 7-4 advantage. Elijah Jenkins' jumper with 14 minutes left to play in the first half put the Eagles up 9-8, but it was the final lead of the game for ERAU as NSU scored the next 10 points for an 18-9 cushion

Joshua Hawkins stopped the Shark run with a layup, and the Eagles were able to get within eight at 25-17 on another Hawkins bucket at the 7:34 mark. However, the home team scored a dozen straight and ended the half on a 26-6 run, capped by a Malik Hardy trey just before half, effectively putting the game out of reach at the break, 51-23.

The Eagles got no closer than 25 in the second half until Bibb-Boyd's free throw with 14 seconds left accounted for the 89-65 final.

ERAU's two three-pointers were the Eagles' lowest in a game this season, as was their 12.5 percent clip from deep. Joining Bibb-Boyd and Mackey in double-figures was Hawkins and Luka Majstorovic, each with 10 for the Blue and Gold.

The Eagles stay on the road to take on Barry on Wednesday, Feb. 7. Tip in Miami Shores is set for 7:30 p.m.
