@ERAUWLax Cruises to 23-9 Road Win Over Emmanuel

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga. - Eight different Eagles scored, including a season-high five goals from Amanda Dargie, as the Embry-Riddle women's lacrosse team returned to the win column on Thursday with a 23-9 victory over Emmanuel. The Eagles (6-4) snapped a three-game skid thanks to a prolific offensive attack, out-shooting the host Lions (6-5) 41-29 en route to the 14-goal win.

Despite the Eagles dominance in the contest, it was actually the Lions who struck first, taking a 1-0 lead 100 seconds into the game, but McKenzie Jackson quickly answered just 12 seconds later. Emmanuel again scored to go in front 2-1, but three straight Eagle scores gave them the lead and even though the home team was able to tie the game at 5-5 with just under 13 minutes left in the first, ERAU reeled off the final five goals of the period, capped by back-to-back Mya Watson scores in the final three minutes to take a 10-5 lead into the break.

Emmanuel made things interesting to start the second half, scoring three goals in the first five minutes to trim the Eagle lead to 10-8, however, Jackson fed Gillian Greenberg for two consecutive tallies to push the lead back to four, and the Blue and Gold blew things open from there, scoring six more times to take a commanding, 17-8 lead.

After EC scored its final goal with 12:48 on the clock, ERAU closed the game with five straight scores, including two from Dargie and two from Meg Jourden.

ERAU owned the draw control battle 22-12 and was successful on 80 percent of its clear attempts (16-for-20) while Skylar Mossop made a season-high 16 saves in goal for the Eagles.

Dargie's five goals led the way for Embry-Riddle, while Jackson tallied four goals, three assists and 12 draw controls. Greenberg and Watson each scored three times, while the quartet of Kendall Leonard, Carson Toney, Jourden and Bryenton each recorded two goals for the Blue and Gold.

The Eagles return to Daytona Beach to play in their first-ever Sunshine State Conference game on Thursday, March 29 as they host (RV) Saint Leo ate the Embry-Riddle Lacrosse Field. Game time is set for 7 p.m.
