Strong Second Half Propels @ERAUWLax to 20-12 Win Over Keiser

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's lacrosse team used a second half rally to top NAIA No. 5 Keiser 20-12, Wednesday at the Embry-Riddle Lacrosse Field. The Blue and Gold overcame a three-goal deficit at the half to improve their ledger to 3-1 on the year and record the 10th win in the program's short history.

Mya Watson, who was 3-for-3 in free position attempts, and McKenzie Jackson each tallied five goals, with Watson and Tori Lammes contributing three assists apiece. Jackson was solid all around, with 11 draws, 10 ground balls, four caused turnovers, and she converted on three of four free position shots. Gillian Greenberg earned her first hat trick of the season, and Elizabeth Ninesling finished with six draws, six ground balls and two goals.

At the 21:38 mark, the score was tied at 4-4, but the second half of the first period saw the Seahawks outscore the Eagles 6-4, including four of the last five to lead 11-8 at the intermission.

The Eagles scored the first four goals of the second half and  Watson's second score of the day on a free position shot gave the Eagles their first lead since the opening goal (12-11). The lead was short-lived as the Seahawks' Valerie Lomaglio scored to make it 12-12. However, that was the last time the Seahawks would find the back of the net.

The Eagles took over the game in the final 16:40 in a stretch that saw the home team win seven of nine draws and record six caused turnovers. ERAU scored on three free position shots and two woman-up opportunities, and tallied eight unanswered goals to secure the win.

Se'Anna Beikirch scored a team-high four goals for the Seahawks who fell to 3-1 with the loss.

The Eagles are back in action at 4 p.m. on Saturday, hosting Newbery at the Embry-Riddle Lacrosse Field
