@ERAUWLax Falls to Queens, 20-13

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's lacrosse team suffered a 20-13 defeat at the hands of Queens University of Charlotte on Wednesday afternoon, dropping the Eagles' season record to 4-2. The Royals improved to 3-1 with the victory.
 
McKenzie Jackson and Elizabeth Ninesling each tallied a team-high three goals, while Gillian Greenberg, Mya Watson, and Tori Lammes all recorded two goals and an assist. Kendall Leonard also scored a goal and added an assist. Ninesling led all players with eight draw controls and Skylar Mossop totaled nine saves while dropping to 2-2 in goal on the season.
 
The Eagles fell behind 2-0 before Greenberg got the Blue and Gold on the scoreboard at the 22:18 mark of the first half. After Queens scored its third goal of the half, Watson put home a free position shot at with 17:27 left in the half to make it 3-2. The Royals scored the next two goals before Greenberg got her second with 8:33 to play before halftime, but Queens answered with two quick goals in the next minute to make it 7-3. Lammes scored a woman-up goal with 7:12 on the clock before the Royals rallied to score four goals in the last six minutes of the period, taking a 12-4 lead into the half.
 
Queens got the first goal of the second half but Leonard and Lammes tallied the following two goals, trimming the deficit to 13-6 just under seven minutes into the half. After a Royal goal, Jackson scored her first goal, but Queens quickly responded just 41 seconds later to go up 15-7. The Royals scored two more goals before Jackson netted back-to-back markers, which were quickly followed by two more Queens goals to make it 19-9. Ninesling tallied all three of her goals in the final 8:13 of the contest, with Watson also putting one home, but the Eagles couldn't find enough offense down the stretch as Queens took the 20-13 victory.
 
The Eagles play the fourth game of this six-game homestand on Saturday, March 9 when they host Nyack at 1 p.m.
