DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Sophomore Kaya Treder became the first NCAA II All-American in Embry-Riddle women's rowing history as the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) announced their Pocock NCAA II All-America roster for the 2019 season. The award recognizes the outstanding performances of rowers and coxswains at NCAA II institutions. Additionally, five Eagle rowers earned scholar-athlete accolades from the CRCA as Kathryn Chilelli, Rachel Hemsworth, Rebecca McBride, Lauren Stollenwork and Treder each claimed that distinction.

Treder, a sophomore from Hannover, Germany, earned All-Sunshine State Conference honors in 2019 after a rookie campaign in 2018 that saw her named to the SSC All-Freshman/Novice Team. In order to be named to the CRCA Pocock All-America team, student-athletes must have participated in at least 75% of all races during the current season and student-athletes must have rowed at least 75% of the season's races in the varsity boat. Selection criteria includes: Strength of Schedule; Regular season record; End of season regatta results; Nomination Rank; Coach's comments; 2,000 meter erg score.

To earn scholar-athlete honors, student-athletes must be in at least their second year of eligibility, rowed in 75% of the spring races or raced in a regional conference event and carry a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher through the current competition year.

Chilelli (Aerospace Engineering), Hemsworth (Global Conflict Studies), McBride (Homeland Security), Stollenwork (Mechanical Engineering) and Treder (Aerospace Physiology) all earned scholar-athlete honors for the first time in their collegiate careers.
