DELAND, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle and Stetson women's soccer teams played to a 2-2 draw in what was an exhibition game for the Eagles but a countable game for the Hatters on Thursday.
The game's first two goals came within the first 10 minutes of play, and both were scored from the penalty spot as each side was called for an infraction inside the 18-yard box. Stetson broke the 1-1 halftime tie when Kate Carter scored off a corner kick. With less than two minutes left in regulation,
Ragnheidur Gardarsdottir netted the equalizer for the Blue and Gold to send the game into overtime.
Neither team was able to convert on any of its scoring chances in 20 minutes of overtime resulting in the 2-2 final.
The Eagles resume their regular season schedule on Wednesday when they travel to Melbourne to take on Florida Tech in ERAU's Sunshine State Conference opener.
