DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team competed in seven singles matches and earned wins in all seven contests on the last day of the ERAU Open, Sunday at the Crotty Tennis Complex.
Roberta Krvajica was the first to pick up a win for the Blue and Gold as she bested Sharienne Ricardo of Southeastern 6-4, 6-4 in the Gold Flight. Next off was
Sabrina Ehrenfort who finished a perfect 3-0 weekend with a 6-3, 6-2 defeat of Amelie Vossagaetter on the Blue Flight.
Alexis Marshall and
Maria Secatore also went undefeated in the Blue Flight as Marshall capped her tournament with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Stetson's Anna Dovgopoyli and Secatore dispatched Jordan King (Stetson) 6-0, 6-1.
After
Jillian Hobbs topped Mia Dunagan 6-3, 6-1,
Mafalda Soares and
Georgina Wood took their respective opponents to three sets. Soares battled Southeastern's Priscilla Baptista to a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 win, and Wood came out on the winning end of a two-and-a-half-hour contest against Flagler's Annika Nissen, 7-5, 4-6, 6-4.
Hobbs and Ehrenfort combined for the Blue and Gold's only doubles win of the day as the duo topped Ricardo and Kishaunda Romain 8-4.
Members of the ERAU women's team will travel to Pensacola Sept. 27-30 to compete in the NCAA II / ITA South Regional hosted by the University of West Florida.
