ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's golf team wrapped up play at the Jay Jennison Cup this morning with the third and final round of the event. The Eagles made a run up the leaderboard with some of their best scores of the event to claim a 12th place finish with a team score of 938 (311-321-306).
Freshman
Georgios Pachiadakis paced the Blue and Gold today, shooting his first sub-80 round and finishing the day at a one-over par 73. He notched 11 pars to go with three birdies during his round today, one of two Eagles to do so on the day. The native of Crete finished play tied for 46
th with a score of 234 (81-80-73).
Kaiser Hartmann bounced back to record a five-over 77 in his third round of play, collecting nine pars and a birdie through the final 18 holes, as he moved up the leaderboards to finish 64
th with a score of 245 (78-90-77).
Johnathan
Tyler Reese finished his event with a 78 today, tying Pachiadakis with 11 pars during the third round and picking up a birdie as well en route to finishing the tournament tied for 56th, just one stroke ahead of Aldarondo at 239 (80-81-78).
John Triplett maintained his consistent play into the second day of the event, recording his second 78 of the weekend. He was the third Eagle to record 11 pars during round three, and matched Pachiadakis with three birdies for the day. He finished the weekend tied for 38
th with his score of 233 (77-78-78).
Ian Aldarondo finished with a 10-over 82 to round out the scoring for the Eagles. He finished the event tied for 59
th with a three-round score of 240 (76-82-82).
West Florida laid claim to the title this year, firing a tournament best round three-under par 285 to go with a 291 and 300 yesterday for an 876 combined score. Host Flagler placed second, followed by fellow SSC school Rollins, Belmont Abbey, and Lander. The other SSC team in the field, Nova Southeastern, finished tied for seventh with Young Harris with a score of 909.
The Eagles will be back on the course October 7-8 as they head to Fort Lauderdale for the shark Invitational hosted by Nova Southeastern.
