PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team wrapped up competition in the 2019 USTA/ITA Division II South Regional tournament on Sunday.
Roberta Krvajica and
Georgina Wood headlined the Eagle performers on the last day of play as they teamed up to win the doubles consolation bracket. After suffering a tough loss in the first round of the main draw, Krvajica and Wood breezed through their next four matches, dropping just nine games.
The Eagles' run started with a 6-3 win over Lee's Micaela Belen Maiz and Lisa Kirr. After topping Florida Southern's Mathilda Vidgren and Magda Stepnik 6-1, the duo bested Stefanie Mehlich and Karolin Kirchtag (Alabama-Huntsville) 6-2 in the semifinals before defeating West Alabama's Daryna Hukansian and Valeria Arevalo 6-3 in the final.
