DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced its All-Region teams on Wednesday and two members of the Embry-Riddle volleyball team received recognition.
Freshman outside hitter
Jaden McBride was named to the AVCA NCAA II All-South Region team and was honored as the Freshman of the Year for the South Region as well. McBride finished the regular season as the SSC leader in kills (417), kills/set (3.86), and points/set (4.47). She also recorded 38 service aces, which ranked eighth in the SSC.
Junior middle blocker
Sam Lanning received All-South Region honorable mention after leading the Sunshine State Conference and ranking second in the nation in blocks with 1.50 per set. She also hit .317 in the regular season, good for ninth-best in the SSC.
