Women’s Tennis Falls at Rollins

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle women's tennis team was unable to get by Sunshine State Conference opponent Rollins (1-2) on Wednesday as the Eagles fell to the Tars 6-1 at the Bert Martin Tennis Complex. Wednesday's loss was the second of the season for the Eagles who are now 2-2 on the year.
 
The Eagles got off to a slow start in doubles, which enabled the Tars to win the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead into singles. The home team further built on its lead and eventually secured the win with win at the second through sixth singles positions.
 
Itxaso Blanco scored the only point for the Eagles in Wednesday's match. She earned a straight set win at the No. 1 spot, downing Alexandra Borg 6-3, 6-2.
 
The Eagles are back on the road on Saturday when they travel to Fort Lauderdale to face fourth-ranked Nova Southeastern. Match time is slated for 2 p.m.
