DeLAND, Fla. - It was a successful day on the water for the Embry-Riddle women's rowing team as the Eagles faced Stetson and Jacksonville at the Sandra Stetson Aquatic Center on Lake Beresford. Embry-Riddle won two of the five races it participated in.

A cross-tailwind aided the rowers down the 2,000 meter stretch of water. Temperatures were in the low 70s to low 80s with cloudy skies.

The Eagles began the morning with a trio of races against Jacksonville. In Varsity Eight, Megan Byrne (coxswain), Helen Carey, Elise Dezotell, Shelby Ernst, Sofia Lorenzini, Kendra Sanders, Helena Schmidt, Bethany Thompson, and Veronika Zdrazil crossed the finish line at 6:48.7 for a second-place result.

Next up in Varsity Four, Lauren Enders (coxswain), Alexandria Fife-Winslow, Gwendolyn Powell, Kristen Vigna, and Alexandra Weilert claimed the Eagles' first victory of the day by beating the Dolphins by over 10 seconds (7:53.2).

Danielle DelGrippo, Caterina Hart, Tracey Loeffler, Courtney Louderback (coxswain), and Rylan Randolph nabbed a runner-up finish in W2V4 with a time of 8:25.6.

Later in the day against Stetson, Embry-Riddle's Varsity Eight boat was barely edged by the Hatters with a result of 6:51.3, just four seconds back.

Lastly, the Eagles went two-for-two in Varsity Four when the Blue and Gold cruised to victory over Stetson by 42 seconds on a winning time of 7:54.5.
