DESTIN, Fla. - A big bounce-back performance in round two of the Golfweek D2 Collegiate Invite on Monday allowed the Embry-Riddle women's golf team to improve two spots to sixth with 611 (312-299) total strokes. The Eagles' score of 299 on Monday was just the eighth sub-300 round in program history. Play is being held at the par-71, 5,802-yard course at the Raven Golf Club. The field of 11 teams includes No. 18 Flagler and RV Texas A&M International.

Just like on Sunday, Loa Johannsson began her round with consistent play, parring each of the first five holes. The following nine holes proved to be challenging, but the sophomore ended her round on a high note with a birdie on the 15th followed by three consecutive pars for a 75. So far, the Championsgate, Florida native has thrived on par-5 holes, averaging 4.88 strokes on such holes, tied for seventh best in the 59-player field. With 149 strokes, Johannsson is tied for 10th heading into the final round.

Millie Lawson improved greatly from her 80 in round one. Monday saw the graduate student knock down a team-high five birdies, four of which came in a seven hole span, en route to a 71 and an overall score of 151 (T-15th). She is among the best in the tournament on par-4s as Lawson is tied for the fifth lowest stroke average on such holes. Additionally, her six birdies are tied for the fifth most out of all competitors.

Similar to Johannsson, Mackenzie McCormack (76-78=154) closed strong in round two with a birdie and a trio of pars to earn a 78.

Jasmine Yang (82-76=158) saw a nice six stroke improvement from the first to the second round. The junior began and ended her round with birdies on par-4s.

Continuing with the trend, Marybeth McGuire went from an 85 on Sunday to a 77 on Monday thanks in part to 12 pars and a birdie on the par-3 16th hole.

Stevie Albright (84-81=165) and Gabby Roth (83-88=171) are competing as individuals.

Flagler (289-289=578) increased its lead to 12 strokes over Texas A&M International (297-293=590). Rogers State (308-290=598) and Montevallo (302-298=600) are battling for third, and West Georgia (305-302=607) is just four strokes ahead of the Eagles in fifth.

Yuliana Yapur (70-70=140) of Texas A&M International posted another below-par round to lead the field individually.

Roth and Albright tee off round three at 7:29 and 7:38 a.m. on Tuesday with the five Eagles competing as a team to follow from 8:05 a.m. to 8:41 a.m.
