DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – After successful indoor seasons that saw them set program standards in their respective events, Ariana Anderson and Mikaela Miles worked their way in the Embry-Riddle outdoor record books  as well at the ERAU First Chance Last Chance Invitational, Saturday at the Embry-Riddle Track & Field Complex.

Just two days after breaking her own ERAU indoor mark in the 3000m run, Anderson returned to the track and added another ERAU record to her resume. Running by herself, she finished the 3000m Steeplechase in 10:46.78, which was 44 seconds faster than the previous record set by Julie Mayfield in 2010.

Miles, who also set an ERAU indoor record in the triple jump on Thursday, etched her name in the Eagles' outdoor record books on Saturday. On her first attempt of the day, the freshman recorded an outdoor triple jump mark of 12.07m (39-2.75) which bettered the mark of 11.90m set by Daisha Brown in 2015 and was 1.29m better than Saturday's second-place finisher. Miles' mark also met the NCAA II provisional qualifying standard.

The outdoor season also got off to a great start for Abby Valley and Ravyn Edge in the 1500m run. Valley ran 14 seconds faster than her previous personal best, crossing the line in second place in 4:55.84. Edge's new personal record of 5:04.76 was good for fourth place.

The Eagles finished one-two-three in the 400m, led by Nina Richardson's first-place time of 59.11. Shenya Patrice was second in a personal-best time of 1:03.49 and Tanija Turner finished third in 1:05.62.

Competing for the first time in eight months, Ukeyvia Beckwith began her senior campaign with the Eagles by winning the 800m in the fifth-fastest time of her career, 2:09.20, which was also a provisional mark. MacKenzie Keller ran the fastest 800m race of her career with a time of 2:19.68 to take second, and Valley closed out her day with a third-place time of 2:25.65.

Competing in her first outdoor meet for the Eagles since 2021, Ashtyn Hunt recorded a personal-best leap of 1.57m (5-1.75) in the high jump. Sydney Cash also posted a PR, clearing a height of 1.45m (4-9).

The javelin resulted in an ERAU all-time top 10 performance by Maxime Kirschner as the Eagles swept the podium in that event. On her first throw, Kirschner launched the implement 40.77m (133-9), which ranks seventh in program history. Current ERAU record-holder Sophia Gustely was second with a toss of 37.12m (121-9) and Sierra Coward placed third with a mark of 36.23m (118-10).

Kirsten Rolle finished second with a personal-best throw of 15.96m (52-4.5) in the weight throw, while Madison Morris took first place in the discus (43.27m (141-11)) and the hammer (39.93m (131)).

The Eagles have a two-week break before their next meet, which will be the Tampa Classic on March 3.
