MELBOURNE, Florida - The Sunshine State Conference announced its 2023 men's lacrosse season awards on Thursday and two Embry-Riddle Eagles found themselves on two different teams.
Ryan Manning became the program's second All-Conference honoree, earning second team All-SSC accolades as an short stick defensive midfielder, and
Hudson Kirk was named to the SSC All-Freshman team, the seventh Eagle to earn a spot on that roster all-time.
Voting for the All-SSC Men's Lacrosse honors was conducted among the league's head coaches.
Manning, a native of Elkton, Maryland, just wrapped up his ERAU career, having played in 64 games with 54 starts (both ERAU career records) during his time with the Blue and Gold. This past season, Manning played in all 14 contests for the Eagles, scoring four times, grabbing one assist and causing 19 turnovers while picking up 45 ground balls. His 19 CTOs and 45 GBs both ranked in the top-12 in the SSC this year.
Manning graduates from the program. holding three career records, including caused turnovers (77), holding 15 spots in five categories in the single-season record book, and 10 spots in the single-game caused turnover record listing.
Kirk hails from Rockwall, Texas, spending his rookie campaign with Embry-Riddle as a stalwart long stick midfielder with 14 games played, 13 caused turnovers and 25 ground balls. His 13 CTOs and 0.93 CTOs per game in 2023 both rank in the single-season top-10 in program history.
Kirk joins teammates

Pete Abbes,
Christian Hofer, and
Marcus Needham, along with
Mitchell Cody and Kared Kane as Eagles who have earned All-Freshman Team honors.
