DAYTONA BEACH, Florida - For the first time since 2015, the Embry-Riddle women's golf team has a student-athlete named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) At-Large Academic All-District roster. The at-large distinction, which is an honor that seeks to recognize the premier student-athletes in college athletics that excel both in the classroom and in their respective sports, includes beach volleyball, bowling, rowing, field hockey, golf, gymnastics, ice hockey, lacrosse, rifle, skiing, water polo, and wrestling.

To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with a least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average (including both undergraduate and graduate degree work), and have been at their respective institutions for at least one academic year.

Lawson, a native of Metropolis, Illinois, holds the ERAU women's golf program's second-best career scoring average at 78.02. She played in all eight tournaments for the Eagles in 2022-23, posting the fourth-best season scoring average (76.9) in team history. Lawson shot a 144 (76-68) at the Invite at Innisbrook (Sept. 26), the fourth-lowest 36-hole score in program history and tying the lowest single-round (68) in the school record book. Her best 54-hole score of the season came at the Sunshine State Conference Championship (April 16-18) where she fired a 226 (74-75-77), and she also shot a 230 (75-77-78) at the Saint Leo Invitational (Oct. 17-18) and had just four rounds over 79.

Lawson holds a 3.80 GPA in her Civil Engineering major.

Lawson will now advance to the Academic All-America ballot.
