ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle women's golf team braved the wind and the rain to complete round one of the Flagler Fall Slam in 315 shots on Monday to reside in eighth place. The 13-team field includes some of the top programs at the NCAA II and NJCAA levels. Two top-25 teams in the NCAA II (No. 5 Flagler and No. 16 Palm Beach Atlantic) and three top-5 NJCAA programs (No. 1 Daytona State, No. 4 Eastern Florida State, and No. 5 Seminole State) are included in the tournament, based on the latest Clippd rankings. Both rounds are being held at the par-72, 6,062-yard Marsh Creek Country Club.

All five Eagles are in the top half of the 76-player field after day one. A downpour rolled through the area just before the start of the round, and another shower passed over about halfway through.

Loa Johannsson put in the low round of the day for ERAU, using a birdie on the par-3, 148-yard hole No. 17 to help the junior shoot a 77 and sit in a tie for 20th.

Eden Tsouklaris and Alexandra Drum tallied 79s. That round matched Drum's season-best single-round score. Tsouklaris notched 13 pars, the most on the team.

Jasmine Yang and Savannah Hawthorne both posted 80s with a team-best two birdies.

Embry-Riddle also had two individual competitors in Stevie Albright and Mackenzie McCormack. Albright matched her season low with a 79. The San Antonio, Texas native recorded two birdies in a three-hole span, both of which were par-4s. As for McCormack, she's competing in her first tournament of the season. The grad student finished strong with a birdie on her 17th hole to end with an 87.

Host Flagler (295) has a three-shot lead over Daytona State (298) with Palm Beach Atlantic (302) in third.

Two individuals finished under par as PBA's Annika Miller and DSC's Cambree Hodge were one under (71) after 18 holes.

The second and final round gets underway on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. Embry-Riddle is paired with Eastern Florida State and Colorado Christian on holes eight through 10 with Albright and McCormack starting on the 12th hole.
