Volleyball Earns Bid to NCAA II National Tournament for Third Time in Four Years

| By:
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - Postseason play is becoming the norm for the Embry-Riddle volleyball team as the Eagles once again received one of eight available bids for the South Region of the NCAA II National Tournament. This is the fourth time ERAU will compete in postseason play since becoming a full-time NCAA II member in 2017. The Eagles also participated in 2019, 2021 and 2023.

The full 64-team field was revealed on Monday evening, and the South Region features six Sunshine State Conference members, one program from the Gulf South Conference and one Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference representative. The region includes four ranked programs (No. 13 Tampa, No. 14 Lynn, No. 18 Barry, and GSC tournament champion No. 22 West Florida) and two teams receiving votes (Embry-Riddle and Florida Tech). Nova Southeastern and Spring Hill, who earned the SIAC's automatic bid, are also in the field.

Lynn won the SSC regular-season title for the first time since 2019 and received the right to host the regional as the top-seeded team. Embry-Riddle (20-9, 13-7 SSC) was awarded the No. 4 seed and will face No. 5 seed Florida Tech (20-9, 14-6 SSC) in the first round next Friday, Dec. 6 with the time to be determined. The Eagles swept the season series against the Panthers for the sixth time in the last seven years, but both matches were two incredibly close five-set contests that could have gone either way. The two ended the regular season right next to each other in the SSC standings with Florida Tech finishing fourth and Embry-Riddle placing fifth.

The full tournament field can be found here.
