CHAMPIONSGATE, Fla. - The Embry-Riddle women's golf team made a strong first impression on Sunday at the program's first-ever appearance at the Legends Invitational hosted by Rollins. Eden Tsouklaris became the 18th Eagle in program history to fire a below-par round, shooting a 71 in round one to help the Blue and Gold record a 298 as a team, which tied for the eighth-lowest round in the history of the program. Embry-Riddle finished the day with 603 strokes to sit in ninth on the leaderboard.

"It was a really gritty performance by us," said Head Coach Maria Lopez. "The wind became more of a factor later in the day, and they really dug in deep from there."

It's a stacked 10-team field featuring eight teams inside the top 25 of the latest Clippd rankings, including No. 4 Dallas Baptist, No. 5 Flagler, No. 7 Lynn, No. 11 Saint Leo, No. 14 Rollins, No. 20 Nova Southeastern, No. 23 Tampa, and No. 25 West Florida. Play is being held at the par-72, 5,899-yard ChampionsGate Golf Club.

Tsouklaris (71-76) is in line to record her first collegiate top-10 finish as the sophomore is tied for 10th with 147 strokes. Her 71 in round one from 15 pars and two birdies was a personal best.

Loa Johannsson (73-75=148) is looking for her third-straight top-20 result to begin the season as the junior is tied for 16th after day one. The ChampionsGate native holed out with an incredible second shot from the fairway on the par-4 hole No. 6 for the team's only eagle of the day.

Savannah Hawthorne (76-77=153) led the team in birdies in round one with five, all of which came in an eight-hole span.

Jasmine Yang (78-77=155) started her day well with an opening-hole birdie. It was the first of a team-high six birdies on the day.

Alexandra Drum (82-77=159) tallied a trio of birdies in round two.

Competing as individuals, Mackenzie McCormack (83-79=162) posted a season-best score of 79 in round two while Stevie Albright (87-82=169) improved five shots from the first to the second round.

Dallas Baptist (579) leads Flagler (585) by six shots. Saint Leo (587) is in third.

Dallas Baptist's Sidney Robertson (142) is the top individual by one stroke.

The third and final round begins on Monday at 7:30 a.m. The Eagles are paired with Nova Southeastern and Tampa on holes No. 9-13.
