DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Following a raucous campaign a season ago, one in which the Embry-Riddle baseball team reached the NCAA II Super Regionals, head coach
Dave Therneau has announced ERAU's 2025 schedule. The slate, featuring the usual powerful Sunshine State Conference foes, includes 18 home games in the friendly confines of Sliwa Stadium.
Â
The Eagles, which finished last season at 35-22 (17-13 SSC) and one Supers win over eventual national champions No. 1 Tampa away from a trip to Cary, N.C., will start the year with back-to-back road swings. ERAU kicks things off with a trip to Montevallo (Jan. 31-Feb.2), followed by a visit to another regional foe in Valdosta State (Feb. 7-9). The Eagles took down then-No. 24 Montevallo to open the 2024 campaign, and took the season series against Valdosta 2-0, with a pair of 5-4 wins, including an electric walk off at Sliwa.
Â
ERAU's home opener will be Tuesday, Feb. 18 when Edward Waters makes the trip in from Jacksonville. The Eagles and Tigers will do battle later in the year as well on Tax Day, April 15. The Blue & Gold won both games in 2024, 11-7 and 13-3.Â
Â
Two dips into the conference slate follows closely with a trip to Barry (Feb. 21-22) and a three-day set with Rollins in Daytona Beach (Feb. 28-March 2), before a run of six non-conference matchups. ERAU dropped the series to Barry last season, 2-1, but took home a nice 13-inning win in the middle game. The Eagles won the series with the Tars for the second year in a row last season, taking the front and back ends of the set.Â
Â
Next up, the Eagles will host Northwood (March 4), Ohio Dominican (March 7) and Wayne State College (NE) (March 8) before making the trip to the Lowcountry once again to take on Savannah State (March 11) and South Carolina-Beaufort (March 12), as they did a year ago. ERAU defeated Northwood last season, 13-5, and has never faced Ohio Dominican or Wayne State. The Eagles took each one-game series from both Savannah State and USCB last season with ease. Florida Tech and Embry-Riddle will meet for a one game nonconference showdown on March 18 at Sliwa Stadium to round out the nonconference slate in 2025.
Â
The full-fledge SSC schedule begins with a pair of nemeses in Tampa across the state (March 21-22) and against Saint Leo (March 28-29) in Daytona. UT and ERAU played six times last season, including the postseason, with the Eagles taking two games against the nation's No. 1 squad. Ranked No. 7 when it beat Embry-Riddle, two games to one, in Saint Leo, the Lions are set for a volatile return trip to Daytona after a heated series in 2024.
Â
Historical school rival Flagler is on the docket for a split two-game series, April 1 at Sliwa Stadium and April 8 in St. Augustine. Sandwiched between those contests is a conference series against newly minted rival Florida Tech (April 4-6) in Melbourne.Â
Â
Lynn makes the trip up from Boca Raton April 11-12, as does Nova Southeastern from Fort Lauderdale on April 17-18. The Eagles took each series on the road last season, 2-1. Back-to-back road series follow, with trips to Palm Beach Atlantic (April 25-26) and Florida Southern (May 1-2), before ERAU returns for the season finale and Senior Day as the Eagles play host to Eckerd to round out the regular season.
Â
The NCAA II Baseball Championship is set for May 30-June 7 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.
