DAYTONA BEACH. Fla. – The No. 12 Embry-Riddle women's tennis team (12-4) got its  fourth consecutive win, as comebacks in each of the last three matches propelled the Eagles to a 4-3 victory over the No. 18 Tampa Spartans (9-3), their first win at Tampa since 2016.

The Eagles lost the doubles point as Tampa won all three matchups. After that Nicole Cierniak and Kristina Miletic defeated Carla Cabero del Hierro and Jessica Christa Wira Hadipoernomo 6-3 in the No. 2 matchup, clinching the point for the Spartans. Tampa also won in the No. 1 slot, as the No. 46-ranked tandem of Julie Ball and Victoria Sanchez scored a 6-4 win over Embry-Riddle's No. 21-ranked duo of Itxaso Blanco and Laura Cuesta Bret.

Tampa extended their lead in the singles, as Miletic defeated Wira Hadipoernomo 6-3, 6-1 at the No. 5 singles, but the Eagles responded in the No. 4 spot with Cabero del Hierro winning 6-4, 6-0 against Cerniak.

It all came down to the No. 3 singles, where Cuesta Bret faced Williams. Williams won the first set 6-4, and Cuesta Bret won the second set by the same score to send it all to a final third set. The two battled to a 5-5 score before Cuesta Bret went up 6-5, but Williams won the next game to tie the match at 6-6. Cuesta Bret won the third set 7-6 tiebreaker 6-3, giving the Eagles the win.
