Cheerleading Concludes NCA College Nationals

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Following a performance score of 79.8667 in the prelims of the National Cheerleaders Association College Nationals on Thursday, the Embry-Riddle cheerleading team received a raw score of 80.2667 in the finals on Friday. The Eagles' final score of 86.5116 gave them a 16th-place result in the Intermediate Coed Division II. Embry-Riddle did manage to beat in-state foe Eckerd, who earned a score of 78.8588.

The final score combined the point totals from the prelims and finals. The prelim performance is worth 25 percent while the final routine made up the other 75 percent of a team's event score.

Arkansas - Fort Smith held on to its day-one lead and was crowned champion of the division with a score of 95.1042. Defending champion Lindenwood (94.956) grabbed second while Saginaw Valley State (94.5208) placed third.
