Jancsik Ties Career-Best Single-Round Score to Move Into Top-15 During Day Two of Women’s Golf’s SSC Championship

LARGO, Fla. - Embry-Riddle women's golf shot lower on Monday at the Sunshine State Conference Championship with a second-round score of 308 for a 627 total, three shots ahead of Palm Beach Atlantic. It was an improvement over Sunday's 319. Play is being held at the par-72, 6,077-yard course at the Bayou Club. Included in the 10-team field are seven programs ranked inside the top-25 of the Clippd rankings, such as No. 4 Nova Southeastern, No. 7 Rollins, No. 10 Barry, No. 11 Lynn, No. 14 Saint Leo, No. 23 Florida Southern, and No. 25 Tampa.

Reni Jancsik followed up her lowest opening round of the year (78) by matching her career-best score with a 74 in round two. The junior's 152 has her in a tie for 15th. Jancsik started the round strong by going one under par on her front nine. She registered a team-best three birdies in the round, bringing her up to five in the tournament, which is tied for ninth-most in the field. Jancsik excelled on par-4s, averaging the ninth-fewest strokes on such holes in the 50-player field.

Loa Johannsson also charged out of the first tee box, going one under in her first five holes. She finished as well as she started as the sophomore secured pars on eight of her last nine holes for a 77 on the day. That brought Johannsson's total up to 156 after a 79 on Sunday. The Championsgate, Florida product led all Eagles in pars with 13 on round two. Additionally, her 24 tournament pars are tied for the third-most among all competitors. 

Millie Lawson fired a second-consecutive 78 to tie with Johannsson at 156 strokes. 

Jasmine Yang (84-79=163) improved five strokes from Sunday to Monday, finishing the round by parring six of the last seven holes. 

A birdie on Savannah Hawthorne's (86-83=169) last hole helped her close round two out on a positive note. 

Saint Leo (307-298=605) jumped up to first on Monday with Nova Southeastern (304-305=609) and Lynn (308-301=609) in a tie for second.

The Lions' Maya Cote is the only participant under par, leading the field with a 143 (71-72). 

The third and final round starts on Tuesday for the Eagles at 8 a.m. Embry-Riddle is once again paired with Palm Beach Atlantic.
