McBride, Keller Grab SSC Weekly Honors

MELBOURNE, Fla. – Embry-Riddle Athletics saw a couple of its Eagles win Sunshine State Conference weekly honors on Monday as volleyball's Jaden McBride was named Offensive Player of the Week and women's cross country's Mackenzie Keller was tabbed Runner of the Week.

For McBride, it's her fifth Player of the Week accolade of her career and the team's first this season. The senior had a monumental week on the outside at the Lee Invitational, helping the Blue and Gold sweep North Greenville and Lee. Over three matches and 10 sets, McBride accumulated 51 kills (5.1 per set), 30 digs, seven blocks, and four aces. She led or tied for the team lead in kills in all three matches.

During the Eagles' battle with undefeated RV Quincy, McBride reached a historic program milestone by notching her 1,000th career dig and tallied a season-best three aces. Then against North Greenville, McBride moved up into fifth on the program's all-time kills list with a season-best 19 in the match and 1,321 in her career. That mark also tied for the most kills in a three-set match by an SSC student-athlete this season.

As for Keller, the Eagle junior took home second place at the ERAU Cross Country Classic on Saturday. Keller's time of 18:56.8 helped to propel the Eagles to their fourth second-place finish in the last five seasons. Keller's time was just shy of a PR, but smashed her best time on ERAU's course by well over two minutes in the 5K event.
