Men’s Soccer had five Eagles earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

DAYTONA BEACH, FL — Embry-Riddle's Men's Soccer had five individuals receive academic recognition as seniors Matteo Moreno Madrid, Andy Paterson, and Tom Shepherd, junior Colin Bailey, and sophomore Kaden Stoddard were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team.

The CSC Academic All-District Award recognizes student athletes for the achievements in the classroom and on the field. To be eligible, the student athlete must maintain a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and have competed in at least 90 percent of their team's season.

Moreno-Madrid competed in every game for the Blue and Gold this season, and recorded two assists against Spring Hill College (Sept. 12) to propel the Eagles to a 4-2 victory. Moreno-Madrid is majoring in mechanical engineering and plans to stay at Embry-Riddle next year to pursue a masters in systems engineering.

Paterson, the captain of the Blue and Gold, was a regular starter at center-back and an anchor on the defensive line. He is majoring in business administration and plans to pursue a masters in aviation finance.

Shepherd made 16 appearances for the Eagles, including 13 starts. Shepherd and Stoddard led the Eagles in goals this season with three each. Shepherd also led the squad in shots (33), shots-on goal (16), and points (8). The Warrington, England native is majoring in business administration and plans to pursue a masters in aviation finance next year.

Bailey made 13 starts and 15 total appearances this season. As a defenseman for the Eagles, Bailey contributed to one shutout. 

Stoddard made 16 appearances and five starts for the Blue and Gold. The sophomore shares the team lead in goals with Shepherd of three goals this season. Stoddard also led the team in game-winning goals alongside Lukas Bludau with one. On Oct. 8, 2025, Stoddard netted the game-winner to secure a 4-1 win over Trinity College of Jacksonville.
