LAKELAND, Fla. -- The Embry-Riddle women's cross country team officially closed the book on a successful 2025 campaign with an eighth-place finish at the NCAA II South Regional Championship on Saturday. The Eagles returned to Holloway Park for the third time this season, placing eighth for the second straight year. However, this year's regional field was deeper, featuring 20 teams compared to 15 in last season's championship.
Junior
Taylor Roth once again led the Blue and Gold, placing 24th overall to earn NCAA All-Region honors. It is her second All-Region award after finishing 25th as a freshman at the 2023 South Regional. The race marked her fifth time leading the Eagles this season.
Embry-Riddle's depth continued to be a strength, as the remaining scorers finished closely together in 46th, 54th, 62nd, and 69th, separated by just 41 seconds. Senior
Mackenzie Keller stepped up to finish second for the Eagles, followed by
Charlotte O'Brien,
Emily Tubbs, and
Leanna Rogers. Freshman standout
Cristina Soto, who had consistently been among the Eagles' top two, was unable to finish due to a medical issue.
The 2025 season featured several highlights for the program, including:
- One All-Conference performer
- One All-Region performer
- A broken 4K program record
- Two individual race victories
- One team meet victory
