Eagles' Women's Tennis Unveils 2026 Slate

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle Women's Tennis unveils its 2026 spring schedule, Head Coach Chad Berryhill has announced.

"We are really excited to compete this spring with this group!  We learned a lot about ourselves this fall and we're hungry to continue to grow this spring," Berryhill said. "Our schedule provides many challenges for us, especially competing in the Sunshine State Conference, but these young ladies are ready for the challenge.  Our players come to Embry-Riddle to compete in high level matches like these.  This schedule was built to help us make the NCAA tournament and to continue our pursuit for championships."

The Eagles are coming off a trip to the NCAA II Tournament, a second place finish in the Sunshine State Conference regular season, and a solid fall season. The fall was highlighted by two Eagles earning top 20 placements in singles rankings in the Intercollegiate Tennis Association's South Region Rankings, released Nov. 12, 2025. Benedetta Sensi received a No. 12 regional rank after a 5-2 performance in the fall. Her fellow Eagle, Amelie Gindl ranked No. 17 for her 6-3 record in the fall.

The spring slate is riddled with challenges, including eight squads who made the top 25 in last year's national rankings, and three of four National Semifinalists from last season.

The Blue and Gold will host their home opener on Jan. 30, taking on Palm Beach Atlantic, followed by a visit from St. Thomas (Jan. 31) and Edward Waters (Feb. 8). Conference play begins shortly thereafter with a visit from the Saint Leo Lions (Feb. 11). Last season, then No. 27 Saint Leo managed to snatch the decisive point, serving the Eagles a narrow 4-3 loss (Mar. 26, 2025) as they fell to 6-8 in the overall series. Embry-Riddle looks to overcome the Lions this season and start SSC play off on a high.

Then the Eagles pack their bags for five consecutive road matches, featuring Valdosta State (Feb. 14), Eckerd (Feb. 16), Columbus State (Feb. 22), a neutral-site match against Auburn Montgomery (Feb. 23), and concluding with a conference spar against Tampa (Feb. 28).

The Blue and Gold return home to Crotty Tennis Complex on March 2 to face Washburn for the first time in program history. The following weekend Embry-Riddle is slated with tough matches against Wingate (Mar. 6) and Barry (Mar. 7). The Wingate Bulldogs are coming off a historic season after finishing second in the NCAA II Director's Cup and claiming their 17th consecutive SAC Athletic Excellence Cup, however, the Eagles toppled the then No. 8 Wingate 4-2 last season in the ITA National Indoors Championship (Feb. 21, 2025).

Next on the docket is a four match homestead, featuring Ferris State (Mar. 11), Tuskegee (Mar. 14), Nova Southeastern (Mar. 18), and Rollins (Apr. 1). The Eagles also have a scrimmage against Hillsborough Community College sandwiched in between (Mar. 27).

The spring winds down with three conference road trips to Palm Beach Atlantic (Apr. 4), Florida Southern (Apr. 8), and Lynn (Apr. 12), before the Eagles close out the regular season against Flagler at home (Apr. 16).

The SSC Tennis Championship will be held on April 24 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
