DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle men's basketball battled on Saturday afternoon inside the ICI Center, completing the 2025 Bahama House Shootout with a contest against Newberry.
The Eagles (5-5) were handed a 94-89 setback by the Wolves (6-6) after Newberry erased a late ERAU lead to extend the game past regulation. Embry-Riddle took advantage late in the second half but ultimately came up short to close out the weekend.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Half
- Jack Klinger scored the first of 13 combined points inside the paint to open the game as Newberry held an early 7-6 lead.
- ERAU battled to remain in striking distance early, however the Wolves' interior pressure helped build an eventual 11-point edge after a 27-17 scoring stretch.
- Perimeter shooting from Evan Montanari and Braeden Moore quickly erased a double-figure deficit as the duo combined for 15 points to pull the Newberry lead down to 39-38 with 4:31 to play.
- The Wolves would answer with five points to move back to a two-possession lead before back-to-back long-range shots from Jared Berry leveled the game at 44-44 with 0:22 on the clock.
- Newberry beat the buzzer before the break with a perimeter shot to lead 47-44.
- Both teams combined for 15 three-pointers in the first half with ERAU leading the way by shooting 8-of-15 (53.3%) from distance.
- Montanari led the Eagles with nine points on 3-of-5 shooting from deep.
- Berry balanced out the offensive production well in the first half, producing six of the eight ERAU assists while adding eight points.
Second Half
- Embry-Riddle came out of the break aggressive, finding an interior bucket from Clarens Pierre and a long-distance score from Dawson Barr to claim a 49-47 lead.
- Newberry would respond and eventually lead by four inside the first five minutes of action, with the Eagles responding yet again to level the score.
- The Eagles shifted momentum in their favor with a 12-4 stretch of scoring capped by deep baskets from Montanari and Landen Harwood, capturing a 71-63 advantage with less than nine minutes to play.
- Newberry bounced back with a 13-4 stretch of its own to reclaim control of the score over the next few minutes.
- Free throws from Klinger followed by a three-pointer from Barr at the 1:40 mark gave ERAU an 80-78 lead, but the Wolves took advantage of a pair of free throws down the stretch to force overtime at 80-80.
- Embry-Riddle led the half 36-33 while shooting 58.3% from the field and 44.4% from beyond the arc.
- Barr and Berry led the charge with eight points apiece.
Overtime
- Newberry landed the first punch with a 4-0 run early.
- Montanari and Barr knocked down key three-pointers to keep the score within reach as ERAU leveled the score at 86-86 with 2:17 to play.
- Newberry outscored the Eagles 8-3 down the stretch, sealing the game by scoring the final three points from the charity stripe.

- ERAU led in field-goal percentage (52%) and three-point percentage (45%), gathering 14 made three-pointers for the game.
