No.4 Women’s Tennis Falls to No.6 Saints

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – The No. 4 Embry-Riddle women's tennis team suffered a tough 4-2 loss to No. 6 Flagler today. The match was played in a clinch format, meaning the first team to reach four points secured the win.

Embry-Riddle now trails the all-time series 6-13 against the Saints.
The last meeting between the two teams was in 2019, where the Saints emerged victorious.
The Eagles hold a 3-6 record in away matches against Flagler.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Maissane Aik and Benedetta Sensi secured the first victory for the Eagles with a 7-5 win over Eryka Kruk and Poly Nikolova at No. 2 doubles.
The final doubles point came down to a dramatic tiebreaker between Jessica Christa Wira Hadipoernomo and Charly Egger of Embry-Riddle and Sofia Balsera and Adela Latalova for Flagler. The Eagles triumphed 7-6 (4), clinching the point.
Wira Hadipoernomo made history today, marking her 73rd career singles win, setting an all-time record for the program.

The Eagles will travel to Saint Leo for their fourth SSC match of the season on March 26 at 3 p.m.
