DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The bats came alive for the Embry-Riddle baseball team on Tuesday as the Eagles belted out 16 hits en route to a 21-5 defeat of Northwood (4-8).
Drew Clymer had a career day at the plate for the Blue and Gold going 3-for-4 with six RBI and two runs scored to help the Eagles improve their record to 9-5 on the year.
Keagan Perez got the win for the Eagles with four strikeouts in 3.0 innings of work.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Inning
• The Eagles batted round the order, capitalizing on three hits, three walks and an error to plate four runs in the first.

Matthew Coker reached via fielder's choice and moved to third on a throwing error by the pitcher.
•
Drew Clymer recorded the first extra-base hit of the day, doubling home his brother Noah and Aracena to give the Eagles a 4-0 lead.
Second Inning
• The Blue & Gold put up another four-spot in the second, highlighted by a two-run homer by Kops.
•
Drew Clymer picked up his third RBI on a sacrifice fly that scored Aracena.
•
Noah Clymer reached on a single to short and later came around to score on a wild pitch.
Third Inning
• Coker earned a free base and later crossed the plate on
Noah Clymer's sacrifice fly to make the score 9-0.
Fourth Inning
• A two-run homerun from C. Duryea and an RBI double by M. Meyer helped the Timberwolves score four in the home half of the fourth.
• The Blue & Gold erupted for seven runs in the bottom of the inning.

Aiden Schmidt walked, stole second and took third on a wild pitch.
• After
Elias Campbell drew the second walk of the inning,
AJ Marinello singled to score Schmidt, and Kops' single sent both Marinello and Campbell across the plate.
• The fourth run came on another

• With runners on the corners,
Drew Clymer took reliever B. Stockford's pitch out to left centerfield for his first dinger of the year and a 16-4 Eagle lead.
Sixth Inning
• Two Northwood errors led to two Eagle scores in the sixth.
• The Timberwolves had a chance to get out of the inning unscathed, but a throwing error allowed two runs to come across.
Seventh Inning
• The Eagles struck for two more runs in the seventh.
Ninth Inning
• Northwood got a run back in the top of the ninth when G. Phillips singled, stole second and scored on a P. Guilbeaux single to close out the scoring.
