Eagle Baseball Unable to Get By Sharks in Extra Innings

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – It took 10 innings to determine the winner of a rollercoaster Sunshine State Conference game between Embry-Riddle and Nova Southeastern on Thursday. In the end, it was the Sharks who got the win with two runs in the 10th to claim the first game of the series against the Eagles.

The Eagles' eight runs came on 12 hits led by a 3-for-4, two-RBI night from Noah Clymer and a 4-for-5 performance at the plate by Collin Mastromauro. After tying the program's single-season hit-by-pitch record on Tuesday, AJ Marinello claimed the record outright on Thursday when he was hit by a pitch for the 21st time this season.

Third Inning
• Beyl reached base on his second plate appearance with a lead-off single in the third.
•  Mastromauro also reached on a single and both runners moved up when Marinello earned a free pass.
• A wild pitch scored Beyl and Clymer's single scored Marinello and Mastromauro.
• Aracena scored on a ground out and Alex Imposimato singled home Clymer to give the Eagles a 6-0 led.

Sixth Inning

• Runs in the seventh and eighth innings gave the Sharks an 8-6 advantage.

Ninth Inning

• Mastromauro led off the bottom of the inning with a single and Marinello was hit by a pitch to put runners on first and second, and both advanced on a ground out.
• Max Kops pinch hit for Clymer and delivered on his only at-bat of the night, belting a two-run single to center field to tie the game.
• The Eagles had a runner on third with one out, but they were unable to bring him home, sending the game to extra innings.

Tenth Inning
• The Sharks got the first two runners on base in the 10th and both came around to score to put the visitors up 10-8.
