WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The No. 2 seed Embry-Riddle women's tennis team took the court Sunday afternoon in the Sunshine State Conference Championship third-place match, facing off against No. 5 seed Florida Southern. Looking to avenge a regular-season loss to the Mocs, the Eagles couldn't find their footing and fell 4-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Embry-Riddle came in looking for revenge, and the No. 2 doubles team of Maissane Aik and Benedetta Sensi delivered early with a 6-2 win over Emily Jennewein and Ronja Scheuermann.
- Despite the win at No. 2, losses on courts one and three gave the doubles point to Florida Southern.
- Four of the six singles matches went to three sets, showing the Eagles' fight.
- No. 69 Sensi earned the lone point for the Blue and Gold, battling through a tight first set before pulling away for a 7-5, 6-1 win over Annika Berrendorf.
- No. 68 Laura Cuesta Bret came out strong with a 6-1 first set win against No. 7 Olivia Bryant, but couldn't hold on in the second, sending them into a third.
- Ultimately, the Eagles dropped matches on courts two, five, and six to seal the 4-1 loss.
