Seven Eagles Named SSC Athletes of the Week

MELBOURNE, Fla. - Women's rowing as well as men's and women's track & field received some Sunshine State Conference accolades on Monday as varsity four was tabbed SSC Boat of the Week, K'Anthony Benjamin was named the Men's Sprinter of the Week and Taylor Roth was labeled Women's Distance Runner of the Week. 

It's the fifth time in six weeks No. 1 Embry-Riddle Women's Rowing had a shell win SSC Boat of the Week honors, and this time it's varsity four for the second time in 2025. Kaitlynn Parker (cox), Lorelei Carter, Briella Goldenberg, Lilly Avezzano, and Sabrina Graves made a statement at the UCO Invite in Oklahoma City. The five Eagles began the event with back-to-back runner-up finishes on Friday before posting a time of 8:13.29 in the final on Saturday to beat No. 2 Cal Poly Humboldt, No. 4 Seattle Pacific, No. 5 Central Oklahoma and No. 7 Jefferson.

K'Anthony Benjamin has been named SSC Male Athlete of the Week for Sprints for the second time this season after a record-breaking performance at the Embry-Riddle Running Elements Classic. He set the ERAU school record in the 200m during the preliminary rounds with a time of 21.11 and finished third during the finals, while also earning third place in the 100m with a time of 10.50, marking the third-fastest sprint in ERAU history.

Taylor Roth has earned SSC Female Athlete of the Week for Distance honors following her victory in the 800m at the Embry-Riddle Running Elements Classic, where she claimed first place with a time of 2:09.35.
