DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Embry-Riddle Baseball had two individuals earn academic recognition as seniors
AJ Marinello and
Tyler Donay were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
The CSC Academic All-District program recognizes student-athlete separately across four divisions— NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA — for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. To be eligible for recognition, student-athletes must have a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and have played in at least 90% of their team's contests from the current season.
Marinello was one of only two Eagles to start in every game this season. The Cape Coral, Florida product batted .317 with 12 doubles, three triples, 10 home runs and 52 RBI. Marinello etched his name in the Embry-Riddle record books setting career (49) and single-season (26) hit-by-pitch records and tying the single-game record with three. Marinello completed his undergraduate degree in software engineering with a 3.61 GPA and posted a 3.5 GPA in his master's in business administration.
Donay (Lakeland, Florida) made 18 appearances on the mound for the Blue & Gold in 2025 compiling a 3-5 record. He struck out 39 in 43 innings of work and finished with a 7.12 ERA. Donay graduated with a 3.65 GPA in computer science.
