| By:
Gainesville, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's track and field team spent the weekend in Alachua County competing at the Legends of Alachua County Invitational, turning in 11 top-five finishes. With one regular-season meet remaining, the Eagles continue to build momentum heading toward the Peach Belt Conference Championship and postseason competition.
Highlight Performances:
  • Taye Newman competed on both Saturday and Sunday, placing fifth in the mile with a time of 4:12.56, narrowly missing an Embry-Riddle top-five all-time mark. Newman returned Sunday to capture the 3,000m title, running 8:13.41, which ranks No. 3 all-time in ERAU history.
  • The 3,000m proved to be a strong event for the Eagles, as Newman, Nicholas Scarangelli, Ethan Stout, and Lucca DiMario finished first, second, fourth, and fifth, respectively.
  • Jacob Swavely and Chance Tressler led Embry-Riddle in the throwing events on Saturday, placing fourth and fifth in the shot put.
