Gainesville, Fla. – The Embry-Riddle men's track and field team spent the weekend in Alachua County competing at the Legends of Alachua County Invitational, turning in 11 top-five finishes. With one regular-season meet remaining, the Eagles continue to build momentum heading toward the Peach Belt Conference Championship and postseason competition.
Highlight Performances:
- Taye Newman competed on both Saturday and Sunday, placing fifth in the mile with a time of 4:12.56, narrowly missing an Embry-Riddle top-five all-time mark. Newman returned Sunday to capture the 3,000m title, running 8:13.41, which ranks No. 3 all-time in ERAU history.
- The 3,000m proved to be a strong event for the Eagles, as Newman, Nicholas Scarangelli, Ethan Stout, and Lucca DiMario finished first, second, fourth, and fifth, respectively.
- Jacob Swavely and Chance Tressler led Embry-Riddle in the throwing events on Saturday, placing fourth and fifth in the shot put.

The Blue and Gold will compete one final time during the indoor season before postseason action begins, returning to Gainesville on Feb. 6 for the Visit Gainesville Indoor Meet.
