| By:
EMPORIA, Kan. – Embry-Riddle will send nine members of its men's and women's outdoor track and field teams to the NCAA Division II Outdoor Track & Field National Championships, setting a school record for the most qualifiers in program history at the outdoor meet. Qualifying for the championships requires athletes to meet a provisional standard set by the NCAA within the qualifying window while also ranking among the top 22 marks or times in the nation. In some cases, selections may extend beyond the top 22 if athletes choose to focus on a single event, allowing the NCAA to fill the full field of 22 competitors. Official qualifying lists were announced Tuesday, May 12.

Men's National Qualifiers:
  • Luke Richardson will head to his first NCAA Division II Outdoor Championships after earning All-American honors at the NCAA Division II Indoor Championships in March. Richardson will represent the Blue & Gold in the 100m and 200m, holding current bests of 10.15 and 20.65 respectively.
  • Derick Brown will also make his NCAA Division II Outdoor Championship debut, competing in the 110m hurdles. Brown competed at his first National Championship in March at the indoor event in the 60m hurdles and currently holds the 11th-fastest time in NCAA Division II at 13.84.
