Emporia, Kan. – The Embry-Riddle men's track and field team concluded its 2026 outdoor campaign in Emporia, Kan., at the NCAA Division II National Championships. The Eagles sent three athletes to compete in four events, highlighted by an All-American performance in the 100-meter.
Performances:
- Freshman standout Luke Richardson kicked off the weekend Thursday in the preliminary round of the 100-meter, reaching the final with an automatic qualification running 10.38, the second-fastest time on the day. He returned Friday evening in the 200-meter preliminary, finishing 11th. Richardson came back to the track for the third consecutive day Saturday for the 100-meter final, officially securing First-Team All-American honors as he crossed the line eighth in 10.42.
- Derick Brown made his NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championship debut Friday evening, competing in the second of three heats of the 110-meter hurdles. He finished sixth in his heat and 18th overall. With another season ahead, Brown will look to make his first NCAA Division II final in 2027.
- The final Eagle to compete was Mason Briggs, also making his NCAA Division II Outdoor National Championship debut. Briggs had a breakout season, moving up the Embry-Riddle program record books to second all-time and concluding with a 17th-place finish in Saturday's javelin, throwing 60.51m on his second attempt.
Embry-Riddle track and field will now begin its offseason and preparation for the 2026-27 campaign.
