Embry-Riddle Track and Field and Cross Country Place 12 on CSC Academic All-District Team

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Embry-Riddle track and field and cross country programs placed 12 student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District teams across the men's and women's squads. On the women's side, four of six honorees will advance to consideration for the Academic All-American Team, while one member of the men's team will do the same. Those teams will be announced July 15.

To qualify for nomination, student-athletes must have at least a 3.50 cumulative GPA following their freshman year, along with a top-50 individual performance at the NCAA Regional Championship for cross country or a top-50 regional ranking in a single event for indoor or outdoor track and field.

Women's Track and Field and Cross Country

Alexandra Baltazar Hall earned her first CSC recognition in her first season with the Eagles. She holds a 4.00 GPA while pursuing her master's degree in human factors and represented the Blue and Gold at the NCAA II Outdoor Track and Field Championships in the discus. Her performance this season earns her a spot on the national ballot.

Joining Baltazar Hall as a transfer to Embry-Riddle, Kailey Ludwig earned her first CSC Academic All-District selection. She recorded a personal-best 3.82m in the pole vault, an NCAA II provisional standard, and carries a 4.00 GPA in business administration.

Graduate student Laura McBride saved her best for last, qualifying for her first NCAA II national championship. A second-team All-American, she also holds a perfect 4.00 GPA while pursuing a master's degree in space operations. McBride joins Baltazar Hall in advancing to the national ballot for Academic All-American consideration.

Mikaela Miles, the 2026 NCAA II indoor national champion and outdoor national runner-up in the triple jump, added another accolade to her résumé with a CSC Academic All-District selection. Miles holds a 4.00 GPA in aeronautical science and will advance to the national ballot.

Allegra Triner turned in a standout sophomore season, competing in the 800m run at both the indoor and outdoor NCAA II national championships. She capped her qualifications for the Academic All-District team with a 4.00 GPA in aerospace engineering.

Ohio native Taylor Roth competed in both the indoor and outdoor championships, earning first-team All-American honors with an eighth-place finish in the 800m run at the NCAA II Indoor Track and Field Championships. Roth will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-American consideration, holding a 3.77 GPA in homeland security and intelligence.

Men's Track and Field and Cross Country

Peach Belt Conference decathlon champion Nathan Wyant secured a spot on his first CSC Academic All-District Team. Academically, the junior holds a perfect 4.00 GPA as an aerospace engineering major.

Rylan Malarchick had a strong finish to his cross country season, helping lead the Eagles to their NCAA II national championship berth with a 29th-place finish at the South Region Championships. In the classroom, Malarchick's 3.58 GPA in engineering physics earned him a spot on his first CSC Academic All-District Team.

Junior and Colorado native Eli Moon had his best season as an Eagle, setting personal bests in the discus, hammer throw and weight throw, including a season-best 43.01m in the discus. Moon joins Wyant as another aerospace engineering major on the Academic All-District Team.

The third aerospace engineering major on the list, Chase O'Connell threw an NCAA II provisional standard of 60.75m in the javelin at the Embry-Riddle Eagle Invite. He ranks fifth in the South Region and carries a 3.85 GPA in his major.

Mason Briggs qualified for his first NCAA II Outdoor Track and Field Championships, throwing a South Region No. 1 mark of 66.86m in the javelin at the UCF Knights Invitational and finishing 17th at the national championship. The unmanned aircraft systems major holds a 3.52 GPA and will advance to the national ballot for Academic All-American consideration.

Junior Nicholas Scarangelli turned in a strong campaign, meeting Academic All-District qualifying standards in all three seasons. Scarangelli played a pivotal role during the cross country season, placing 10th at the NCAA South Regional and helping catapult the Eagles to an automatic bid to the national championship. He carries a stellar 3.96 GPA in computer science.
