No. 6 Women’s Lacrosse Dominates Early, Defeats Montevallo 22-6

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – No. 6 Embry-Riddle women's lacrosse had a nearly perfect first quarter on Friday afternoon against Montevallo, leading 10-2 after the opening 15 minutes. The Eagles had 10 different players score a goal this afternoon, led by Eliana Enners who had her second consecutive game with five goals. ERAU was able to create plenty of chances due to the 23 draw controls they had as a team, tied for the sixth most in program history.

GAME NOTES
  • Embry-Riddle improved to No. 6 in the most recent IWLCA Division II national poll (Feb. 23).
  • The Eagles now lead the all-time series 6-0 over the Falcons, with the Blue and Gold making the trip to Montevallo each of the past three seasons.
  • Across their six matchups, ERAU is averaging more than 20 goals per game against the Falcons.

HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
  • Embry-Riddle would take 10 shots and score six goals before Montevallo attempted their first shot, with the first ERAU goal coming from Natalie Jansky at the 12:37 mark.
  • Eliana Enners would double the Eagles' lead almost 30 seconds later after controlling the draw and then finding the back of the net.
  • Jordan Davis made it 3-0 with 7:59 remaining in the period and Ashley Albert pushed the Blue and Gold's lead to 4-0 only 10 seconds after Davis' goal.
  • Enners and Caitlin Gavin each earned a free position shot in the next couple of minutes to put ERAU ahead 6-0 after the first ten minutes of action.
  • Montevallo would get on the scoreboard after winning their first draw of the game and scoring immediately after Gavin's goal.
  • Embry-Riddle would score four more goals in the final four minutes of the period, capped off by Aubrey Schmidt scoring the first goal of her career. The Eagles outshot the Falcons 15-2 throughout the quarter, including 12-1 in shots on goal.
Second Quarter
  • The Blue and Gold kept their foot on the gas in the second quarter with the first goal of the period enough for Enners to complete her hat trick. 
  • With 8:19 left in the half, Ashley Albert put ERAU up 12-2 with her second goal of the game. The freshman midfielder now has five goals on just five shots this season.
  • Davis and Schmidt grabbed a goal within a minute of each other to extend Embry-Riddle's lead to 14-2.
  • Allison Cimaglia provided her second assist of the quarter to Enners for the last goal of the half, tying Cimaglia's career-high in assists.
  • The Eagles won 16 of 19 draws in the first half, with a 6-0 advantage in the second quarter.
Third Quarter
  • There was a running clock for the entire second half due to the Eagles leading by at least 10 goals, but the Blue and Gold continued their relentless attack.
  • Even with a yellow card given to Embry-Riddle, Enners would not be denied her fifth goal, scoring while a woman-down off of an assist from Jansky.
  • After killing off the penalty, ERAU made it 17-3 through Cimaglia with 6:48 left to play in the third quarter.
  • Jansky finished the quarter with a goal in the final 90 seconds, putting Embry-Riddle up 18-4 with one period left to play. The junior attacker has at least one goal and one assist in every game this season.
Fourth Quarter
  • Leah Coletti continued her streak of scoring a goal in every game this season by scoring back-to-back goals to begin the fourth quarter, seeing the Eagles go ahead 20-5 heading into the final eight minutes.
  • RJ Ensor became the 10th different player to score when she grabbed her first career goal with just 2:25 remaining in the contest
  • Ava Rogala gave Embry-Riddle their 22nd goal of the afternoon with a woman-up goal in the final 90 seconds of the game, creating the 22-6 final score. 

INSIDE THE STATS
  • The 22 goals that the Eagles scored this afternoon were the most they have scored since March 21, 2025. 
  • Peyton Fowler played in her first career game and made a save, along with RJ Ensor scoring her first career goal.
  • Kaylee Storm had a career-high 10 draw controls, with the Eagles controlling 23 of the 28 total draws.

UP NEXT
The Eagles will start a six-game homestand when they host Anderson University. Embry-Riddle will play the Trojans on Monday, March 9. Anderson is currently receiving votes in the national poll, holding a 4-2 overall record.
