HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
  • It did not take long for each team's attack to look like they were in mid-season form, with the two squads combining for four goals in the first five minutes.
  • Eliana Enners and Ashley Albert were able to cancel out a pair of early goals for Olivia Rewers.
  • Albert's goal, which came while the Eagles were a woman-up, made the score 2-2 and was the first of six unanswered goals scored by ERAU.
  • Enners would add her second goal of the quarter with 6:19 remaining, before a goal from Allison Cimaglia gave the Blue and Gold a 4-2 lead.
Second Quarter
  • Natalie Jansky grabbed her first goal of the season just a minute into the second quarter, with the assist from Caitlin Gavin who picked up a ground ball and ran the length of the field after a save from Ella-Rae Cox.
  • ERAU would pick up more ground balls than UAH in every quarter of the game, finishing the contest with a 28-18 advantage.
  • A few minutes later, the Eagles would score another goal in transition through Callison Foreman after an assist from Jordan Davis, handing Embry-Riddle a 6-2 lead.
  • Embry-Riddle would cap off their 6-0 run with another woman-up goal, this time from Ava Rogala. The Chargers were given six cards in the first half, and finished with eight total cards.
  • Rewers would complete her hat-trick with 4:15 to go in the half, but another late goal from Cimaglia gave the Blue and Gold an 8-3 advantage headed into the break.
Third Quarter
  • However, in the third quarter, it was the Eagles who were forced to play a woman-down on four separate occasions.
  • UAH would turn those extra-man opportunities into a pair of goals through Sarah Cole and Ella Rutherford.
  • The Chargers would force Embry-Riddle into eight turnovers in the third quarter, but Ella-Rae Cox made four saves, limiting Alabama-Huntsville to just the two goals.
Fourth Quarter
  • ERAU's lead was trimmed down to just two after a goal from UAH with 11:13 remaining in the game.
  • However, back-to-back goals from Leah Coletti and Jansky put the Eagles in a much more comfortable position, ahead 10-6.
  • Some great game management from Embry-Riddle ensured that the game was slowed down and there was no threat from the Chargers, with Embry-Riddle going 6-for-7 on clearances and picking up nine ground balls in the quarter. In addition, the Blue and Gold forced six turnovers from Alabama-Huntsville in the fourth.
  • Foreman added a goal in the final 90 seconds with an empty net from the Chargers, giving her 106 career goals.
