No. 1 Women’s Rowing Sends Varsity Eight Boats to Stetson Showdown

| By:
DELAND, Fla. — No. 1 Embry-Riddle women's rowing sent a pair of V8 boats up to Stetson on Saturday morning, where they faced great competition between NCAA Division I, II, and III schools. The Eagles would race against UCONN, Jacksonville, Stetson, Rollins, Nova Southeastern, and Wesleyan throughout the day. There was a race in the morning for both the V8+ and 2V8+ before each boat came back again for a second race in the afternoon.

The first race of the morning saw the V8+ finish in third place behind Jacksonville and UCONN, but ERAU would finish comfortably ahead of fellow SSC members, Nova Southeastern and Rollins. In the afternoon, the Eagles would improve by nearly two seconds and earned a silver medal in the race after finishing in front of UCONN.

The opening race for the 2V8+ saw them cross the line with a runner-up finish, ahead of Stetson, UCONN, Wesleyan, and Rollins. The final race of the day for the Blue and Gold was with the 2V8+ in the afternoon, who was timed at 7:59.5.

The Eagles finished as the top boat among Division II teams in all four races of the day.
