Seven Student-Athletes Set to Represent the Blue & Gold at NCAA II Indoor Track & Field National Championships

| By:
VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. – Embry-Riddle will send seven members of its men's and women's indoor track and field teams to the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field National Championships, setting a school record for the most qualifiers in program history at the indoor meet.

Qualifying for the championships requires athletes to meet a provisional standard set by the NCAA within the qualifying window while also ranking among the top 18 marks or times in the nation. In some cases, selections may extend beyond the top 18 if athletes choose to focus on a single event, allowing the NCAA to fill the full field of 18 competitors.
Official qualifying lists were announced Tuesday, March 3.

NCAA QUALIFIERS
  • Mikaela Miles will compete at her fourth NCAA Indoor Championship in the triple jump. Over the course of her four-year career at Embry-Riddle, Miles has improved her mark from 11.98 m to 12.83 m, the current program record. After finishing third at last season's championship, she will look to capture her first national title. Miles currently ranks No. 2 in the nation entering the meet.
  • Taylor Roth qualified for her first NCAA Indoor Championship and will compete in the 800 m. Roth is part of an Embry-Riddle 800 m squad that ranks ninth nationally in Division II. Her team-leading time of 2:08.84, recorded at the BU David Hemery Valentine Invitational, ranks 15th in Division II.
  • Allegra Triner has made major strides in her sophomore season and will make her first appearance at a national championship. Triner improved her personal record in the 800 m by more than eight seconds from her freshman season. Her time of 2:09.22 secured her spot in the national field.
  • Antonio Caito has been one of the most consistent performers for the Eagles this season. He opened the indoor campaign with a jump of 15.27 m, breaking his own school record. Since then, Caito improved to 15.64 m, the No. 3 mark in Division II, earning a place in his first NCAA Indoor Championship.
  • Kobe Diggs will join Caito in the triple jump at his first NCAA Indoor Championship. Diggs capitalized on his final opportunity at the TCNJ Last Chance meet, improving his personal-best jump to 15.15 m and solidifying his position among the top 18 triple jumpers in Division II this season.
  • Luke Richardson has emerged as one of the top freshman sprinters in the nation, setting school records in both the 60 m and 200 m. His time of 6.68 in the 60 m ranks No. 12 nationally and fourth among freshmen, while his 21.04 mark in the 200 m is the No. 9 time in Division II and third among freshmen. Richardson will look to earn All-American honors in both events in his first NCAA Championship appearance.
  • Derick Brown broke the eight-second barrier in the 60 m hurdles during the preliminary round at the Peach Belt Conference Championship, lowering his own school record and securing his place among the nation's best. Brown enters the national meet with the No. 12 time in Division II at 7.94.
The seven Eagles will begin competition at the Virginia Beach Sports Center on Friday, March 13, with the national championships concluding Saturday, March 14.
