ORLANDO, Fla. – Three members of the Embry-Riddle women's tennis program earned Sunshine State Conference honors Wednesday.

Head coach Chad Berryhill was named Coach of the Year, becoming just the fourth coach in SSC history to earn the award multiple times. Freshman Daniela Fernandez Junquera claimed the Athletic Solutions SSC Freshman of the Year award, marking the third consecutive year an Embry-Riddle women's tennis player has received the honor. Benedetta Sensi rounded out the group, earning Second Team All-SSC recognition in singles.

Fernandez Junquera competed primarily at the No. 3 and No. 4 singles positions during the spring, posting records of 5-1 and 11-1, respectively. She went 5-1 in SSC play and compiled a 12-7 doubles record while competing at both the No. 1 and No. 2 positions. Her freshman award is the third in program history, with all three coming in consecutive years. She joins current teammates Franziska Kremerskothen and Laura Cuesta Bret as Embry-Riddle's Freshman of the Year honorees.

Berryhill's second SSC Coach of the Year award, voted on by his conference peers, makes him the first coach in Embry-Riddle history to earn the recognition. His previous honor came during his tenure as head coach at Saint Leo. This season, Berryhill guided the Eagles to a 22-2 record, an SSC tournament runner-up finish, a No. 2 national ranking and the program's first opportunity to host an NCAA South Regional No. 2 site.

Sensi earned Second Team All-SSC singles honors for the second straight year after going 17-3 overall and 5-1 in conference play at the No. 3 position. Her signature moment of the season came when she clinched the Eagles' victory over SSC rival and No. 3-ranked Nova Southeastern.
